About
Welcome, and thank you for visiting my blog!
This site is dedicated to exploring the beauty and wisdom of Yojijukugo—Japanese four-character idioms. Each post dives into the meaning, background, and feeling behind a specific idiom, along with my personal reflections on why it speaks to me.
I started this blog because I’ve always been fascinated by the depth packed into the Japanese language—especially kanji. Yojijukugo felt like the perfect place to begin: they’re powerful, poetic, and incredibly meaningful.
While the current focus is on idioms, I also plan to explore other aspects of the language and culture in the future—such as cool or commonly misunderstood kanji, famous proverbs, and cultural concepts like Shikata ga nai or Mono no aware. If it’s something that reveals the heart of Japan, I’d love to write about it someday.
I'm not a professional linguist—just someone who enjoys learning and sharing the richness of Japanese through writing, while also improving my English along the way. I hope this space can be both informative and inspiring for readers around the world.
Let’s uncover the quiet strength and beauty of Japanese words—one phrase at a time.
